Abstract: The articles gathered in this volume deepen some papers presented at the colloquium with the same name, held at the Museu do Fado in April 2014. They analyse the presence of Lisbon in the lyrics of fado throughout the history of the song, the Lisbon places portrayed in Portuguese literature of the second half of the 19th century and the construction of poetic paths as mediation between citizens and the immaterial heritage of the city, taking for example the fado lyric.
