Abstract: The idea of a book about letters in cinema is based on a double hypothesis: on the one hand, from the conviction that in the dialogue between writing and cinema it is possible to think ideas of literature and ideas of cinema (the way in which cinema thinks literature, either as a mirror or as a dissonant double); on the other hand, from the idea that the letter, as a figure, thematic element or structural element, can make itself the axis of this relationship, presenting itself at the same time as a figure of literature and a figure of a circulation of writing in a regime in which it will function spectrally as a foreign body, or, more precisely, as an unrecognised body: unknown at the address.
