The congress Les paroles d’abord! La chanson en français à l’intersection du poétique et du politique [Lyrics first! French-language song at the intersection of the poetic and the political], organised by APEF – Association Portugaise d’Études Françaises, will take place at the University of Coimbra, NOVA FCSH and Almada Negreiros College on September 30th and October 1st and 2nd.

This event aims to explore the different paths of song, which under an apparent banality is a particularly rich subject. IELT researchers Carlos Carreto, Ana Paiva Morais and Margarida Esperança Pina are involved in the organisation of the meeting.
