Fernanda Luísa Gaspar Marques Pinto has a degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (Portuguese and French Studies), a master’s degree in History of the Portuguese Empire and is currently studying for a PhD in Portuguese Studies, with the thesis As Traduções Francesas da História do Descobrimento e Conquista da Índia pelos Portugueses, de Fernão Lopes de Castanheda, no século XVI. As part of her professional training, she has attended numerous courses in IT, book and reading promotion, literature, writing and pedagogy. Throughout her professional career, she has taught and given training in the areas of Portuguese Language, Portuguese as a Foreign Language (A1, A2, B2) and French Language at various vocational schools, vocational training centres and colleges. She has reviewed foreign fiction in the magazine Os Meus Livros. She has carried out research in the area of Modern History at NOVA FCSH and, currently, in 16th Century Literature. Since 1997 she has worked for the DGLAB – Directorate-General for Books, Archives and Libraries, where she has developed projects to promote books and reading in prisons and libraries. She currently holds a research grant: Portuguese Dialogues at IELT – NOVA FCSH.
