The call for papers for the third volume of the critical anthology Imaginários do Mar [Sea Imaginaries], coordinated by IELT within the framework of its participation in the UNESCO Chair “The Ocean’s Cultural Heritage”, is now open. Authors are invited to send articles under the thematic axes:
(a) The illuminated sea of manuscripts
(b) Maritime paratexts (covers and illustrations of printed works)
(c) The Maritime Novel and the Illustrated Book (Comics, Children’s and Youth Literature, Graphic History)
(d) The Maritime Novel and the Cinema
(e) The sea in photography and photo documentary
(f) The sea drawn and painted
(g) The sea in Cartography
Those interested should send the abstracts (5 to 10 lines) with a biobibliographical note until April 30th to imaginariosdomar.ielt@fcsh.unl.pt. The deadline for sending the final proposals (accompanied by abstract and up to 5 keywords) is September 30th. The selected articles must follow the editorial norms of IELT (sent in due time) and guarantee the cession of copyright of the images reproduced. Articles are accepted in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English. The organization of this third anthology is under the responsibility of Luís de Sousa Martins and Carlos Clamote Carreto.
