The international conference Using the Past: The Middle Ages in the Spotlight takes place from December 10th to 12th, 2020 at the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória (Batalha).

The conference aims to bring together scholars from around the world concerned with the uses of the medieval past. Participants will address when, where, how and by whom the medieval past was used.

The organisation of the meeting, with the participation of IELT, invites students, researchers and those interested in the topic to submit a paper proposal. Proposals should be sent, together with a brief CV, to medievallyspeaking@gmail.com until March 31st, 2020. Papers are accepted in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French or Italian.
