The next session of Elas/Delas: literary conversations will take place on May 20th at Snob Bookshop.

After nearly three years of these gatherings — during which we explored how women writers made a name for themselves and asserted their work — we now turn to the obstacles they encountered, and the barriers that were placed in the path of their presence, participation, and representation in the literary and cultural life of 20th century Portugal.

This session will feature Ana Paula Ferreira and Teresa Sousa de Almeida, two scholars and university professors, who will reflect on the challenges Portuguese women writers faced when they considered… writing a book.
