IELT makes available in open access the ebook Imaginários do Mar: Uma antologia crítica Vol. I. [Sea Imaginaries: A Critical Anthology Vol. I].

This publication appears in the context of IELT’s collaboration with the UNESCO Chair “The Ocean’s Cultural Heritage”. It was designed and developed as an anthology of studies and sources on the representations of the sea in its most diverse manifestations. Looking for alternatives to the heroic and erudite visions that the sea often assumes in Portuguese literature and culture, here is gather a set of texts on popular tradition, sea monsters, fishing, selling fish, ships, animals, moliceiros, photography, music, movies, departures and goodbyes. This is the first volume of others to follow.

The work is part of the IELT collection, whose editorial guidance is currently subject to the Open Access Policy recommended by the FCT.
