Uma mesa para um Império: globalização e cosmopolitismo em Roma

On April 21st, the researcher Inês de Ornellas e Castro will give the inaugural session of the series of lectures À Mesa no Teatro Romano [At the table in the Roman Theater]. The conference is entitled Uma mesa para um Império: globalização e cosmopolitismo em Roma [A table for an Empire: globalization and cosmopolitanism in Rome].

The history of food is an area of study that is increasingly attracting the attention of researchers. To know what we eat today, how we eat it and understand how these foods were adopted by mankind is to make the history of humanity. The Museum of Lisbon – Roman Theatre has prepared a set of lectures that address the theme of food in various aspects.

Participation is free, subject to reservation via e-mail reservas@museudelisboa.pt.
