Márcia Liliana Seabra Neves has an undergraduate degree in Teaching Portuguese and French from the University of Aveiro. She finished her PhD in Culture, in December 2010, at the same University with a thesis entitled Da francofilia no imaginário presencista: da NRF à presença. Between 2012 and 2018, she was a postdoctoral fellow and a member of the Institute for the Study of Literary and Tradition, at Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. Here she developed a research project under the theme Zooficções: figuras da animalidade nas narrativas portuguesa e brasileira contemporâneas (SFRH/BPD/80743/2011). Since February 2019, she has been a hired researcher at IELT / School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, where she also teaches Francophone Literature, 19th Century French Culture and Literature, in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Modern Literatures. Her current research focuses on the theme Zoofições e geopoéticas: cartografias da animalidade. She is also a collaborating member of the Centre for Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Aveiro. She has published several articles in the scope of cultural studies, comparative literature and the figuration of animality in the Portuguese narrative of the 20th and 21st centuries. Graduated in Modern Languages and Literature (Portuguese/English) by Faculdade de Letras (Lisbon University), Master in Comparative Literature, and with a PhD in Literature and Culture Studies. Her research is focused on Fernando Pessoa’s marginalia and Fernando Pessoa’s writings. She has participated in multiple meetings and conferences in Portugal and abroad and she has published several essays in literary magazines and online papers. She is a member of IELT and “Estranhar Pessoa” team. She has been working as a teacher at secondary schools and at university. Ana Sirgado is a team member of the project RELIT-Rom “Literary revisions: the creative application of ancient ballads (15th-18th centuries)”. She completed her PhD in Traditional and Oral Literature at NOVA University of Lisbon in 2017. She was also a Guest Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH where she teached Portuguese Renaissance Literature for undergraduate programmes (2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-24). Her research interests include Portuguese Literature of the 16th century and traditional literature, focusing mostly on the pan-Hispanic ballad and on its relationship with canonical works of literature. She is the co-author of Romances Tradicionais do Distrito de Bragança (IELT, 2019), along with J. J. Dias Marques, and author, amongst other publications, of “As jovens aventuras de Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar: reavaliação de um testemunho do romanceiro novo” (RCIM, 2022) and of “Romances e provérbios na literatura portuguesa quinhentista: o caso de «erros por amores»” (BLO, 2022). Marta Braga holds a PhD in Languages, Literatures and Cultures at School of Social Sciences from the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Portugal, with the thesis entitled Subsídios para um conceito de crueldade na literatura: Diálogos plurívocos entre textos modernistas franceses e portugueses (2021). During 2016 and 2020, she was lecturer of Portuguese and French Studies at the University of Santa Barbara, California ( UCSB). Lucília Chacoto is a professor in the University of Algarve (Portugal) and has a PhD in Linguistics (2005) with the dissertation O Verbo Fazer em Construções Nominais Predicativas. Researcher at IELT (Universidade NOVA de Lisboa) since 2018. Her main research areas are Syntax, Phraseology, Paremiology, Translation. Chacoto is a reviewer of Entrepalavras (since 2011); Revista Galega de Filoloxía (since 2020); Paremia (since 2009); editor of Board of Estudos de Literatura Oral (since 2006); and collaborates with several other scientific reviews. She participates in several scientific committee of International Scientific Conferences and Workshops. Since 2001, she has a Certificate of Registo de Formador, both in Portuguese and in Linguistics, by Conselho Científico-Pedagógico da Formação Contínua. [Scientific outputs]

Maria Joana Reis Paiva Nunes de Melo, holds a Ph.D in Literary Science from the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa since 2011. Her doctoral thesis Desígnio Inteligente – Actualização da Poética de Aristóteles como Teoria do Método e Funcionalidade Específicos de uma Arte Audiovisual de Larga Difusão, (sponsored by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia and advised by Professor Abel Barros Baptista, NOVA FCSH), establishes an in-depth connection between Greek Tragedy and American Film, pointing out the tragic structure, as described by Aristotle, as an everlasting prototype for commercial audiovisual fiction. Her current postdoctoral research at the IELT (Institute for the Study of Literature and Tradition) focuses on oracular speeches in Greek tragedy and its aesthetic equivalence in cinematography. She has published “Um Trágico Final Feliz” in the Universidade de Coimbra’s review Materialidades da Literatura, vol. 2; and «O alogon de Aristoteles e o drama de Billy Wilder», Metakinema.

Jorge Augusto Maximino, Ph.D Portuguese Studies, University of Paris IV-Sorbonne (thesis: Philosophie et Modernité dans l’Œuvre Poétique d’António Ramos Rosa, Paris, l’Harmattan, 2013), is Professor of literature and semiotics, researcher in literature, aesthétique and cultural theory, specifically about questions of time in poetic discourse, and published, recently, in Brazil, Ética e alteridade em Primeiras estórias de João Guimarães Rosa. Ensaio sobre processo metafórico e interlocução. He is co-editor of four anthologies in Portugal, one in France (with Pierre Rivas and Nuno Júdice). Joana Meirim is Visiting Assistant Professor at the NOVA FCSH, a researcher at the Research Centre for Communication and Culture (Universidade Católica Portuguesa) and at IELT. She holds a Ph.D. in Literary Theory (School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon), with a thesis on Jorge de Sena and Alexandre O’Neill, and has coordinated a project on the Portuguese poet Alexandre O’Neill with a grant awarded by the Gulbenkian Foundation. She has recently edited a collection of Alexandre O’Neill interviews (Tinta da China, 2021), co-edited a volume on the teaching of literature (IELT-Nova FCSH, 2021) and a collection of essays on the criticism of Jorge de Sena (BNP, 2022). [Scientific outputs]

Golgona Anghel is an Assistant Professor at the Portuguese Studies Department, of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and member of IELT – Institute for the Study of Literature and Tradition. She graduated (2003) Portuguese and Spanish Studies at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa), where she later finished her PhD (2009) in Portuguese Contemporary Literature. She published some books of essays – Eis-me acordado muito tempo depois de mim, uma biografia de Al Berto (Quasi Edições, 2006), Cronos decide morrer, viva Aiôn, Leituras do tempo em Al Berto (Língua Morta, 2013), A forma custa caro. Exercícios inconformados (Documenta, 2018) – and she prepared a diplomatic Edition of the diaries of the Portuguese poet Al Berto (Diários, Assírio & Alvim, 2012).
